Deliver Us From Evil, a preview review!

Yep....another demon possesion movie!
Just when you have had enough of this stuff, the detailed and well written book by Police Officer/Demonologist Ralph Sarchie from my good old home town of NYC originally entitled "Beware The Night" has been hollywoodized into this creepy spin based on his cases with what he calls "The Demonic".
The preview above speaks for itself about the plot of the story....Ralph, a NYPD officer, starts to get cases here in the Bronx about some people who are apparently possessed by a demon or demons. I can already tell how far this is from the book and that the book is more real than this. In this film it appears that Ralph is portrayed as a regular police officer who is skeptical and doubtful about something spiritual going on....that of course changes throughout the film as his own family start to become victims of supernatural forces beyond his control.
Needless to say, the real Ralph Sarchie, based on the book, was not a skeptic or at least did not come across as one. His strong affiliation with various Exorcists, including the famous Jesuit Malachi Martin...God rest his soul...brings great credence to his tales in the book. But this preview...
This Preview?
I'm doubtful. There have been many hair raising supernatural tales that were based on allegeed true events, the granddaddy of them all The Exorcist (1973) included. We also have The Amytiville Horror, the Exorcism of Emily Rose and the Rite are other examples. I'll wait to see this film when it's released and I'll give you my true review. However, I would recommend the book. I couldn't put the thing down and finished it in two days! Amazing.
