The Chiller Horror Convention was this weekend of April 26-28, 2013 in Parssipany, New Jersey.  It was a blast!  Victor and I had the opportunity to meet great actors and actresses from not only the Horror Genre, but from television and other types of movies as well.  We're talking David Warner, (The Omen, Titanic),  Debbie Gibson, Patricia Quinn (Lords of Salem, Rocky Horror Picture Show), Judith O'Dea (Night of the Living Dead), (Tara Buck (Tru Blood), Theodus Crane (The Walking Dead), and many others...We had a great time! 
















 

I went with my wife to see The Lords of Salem last night.  This new film by Rob Zombie is in regards to the Salem Witch Trials of the late 1600's.  To let you all know my family and I make it a point every year to visit Salem, Massachusetts in October to see all the festivities that take place there.  Due to it's infamous past, this quiet and beautiful town has over the centuries taken on the deep and dark legends of witchcraft and Satan worship, and transformed it into a kind of celebration, especially in October.  Halloween comes early in Salem in this month and we have everything from the witch museums which give historical accuracy to Salem's past to fun haunted houses which would make everyone scream.  They also have Count Orlock's Nightmare Gallery film museum where you take a journey through the years of horror films from Count Dracula to Jason Vorhees.  There is also the famous House of Seven Gables, a historical house with indirect ties to the witch trials.  Pretty cool stuff.  
One of the things I loved about The Lords of Salem was that for the most part it seems it was actually filmed there.  My wife and I saw streets and stores that we recognized in our visits there.  It was fun to watch because of our familiarity with the town.  
Do not be so fooled.  There are true wiccans who live in Salem, more nature worshippers than anything else...a whole ball park throw from the witches we generally think of as well as the witches depicted in Lords...I will not tell you how many coffee cups I give it yet....Vic and I will give our review soon.  I can tell you this though....If you are a die hard Rob Zombie fan, I think you will love this film...

Well, what do you think? For me, I can tell you that I like it! It seems, dark, serious, and no joke! Godzilla looks amazing, not like that iguana/raptor looking thing from 98...oh no....THIS IS GODZILLA! I grew up on this stuff. My father used to take me to the movies in Washington Heights to see Godzilla films when they were finally released here in the US. The Exorcist TV Series.....not as Bad As I Thought.

So months ago I saw the preview to the Fox Television series The Exorcist, which was taken from the original 1973 classic.  I thought this was going to bomb. I was wrong. Not only has this series held my attention since the first episode, an exciting new twist has arisen in episode 5 which aired this past Friday.  I was absolutely shocked.  The mother of the possessed girl that Father Tomas and Father Marcus is trying to help has turned out to be non other than Regan McNeil, the girl Linda Blair played in the original film.  She had changed her name and built a new life for herself to escape her past.  She even disappeared from her mother as well because she was constantly being haunted by the memories of that terrible episode which had made audiences gasp, shake and run to the confessionals back in 1973.
