Yep....another demon possesion movie! Just when you have had enough of this stuff, the detailed and well written book by Police Officer/Demonologist Ralph Sarchie from my good old home town of NYC originally entitled "Beware The Night" has been hollywoodized into this creepy spin based on his cases with what he calls "The Demonic". The preview above speaks for itself about the plot of the story....Ralph, a NYPD officer, starts to get cases here in the Bronx about some people who are apparently possessed by a demon or demons. I can already tell how far this is from the book and that the book is more real than this. In this film it appears that Ralph is portrayed as a regular police officer who is skeptical and doubtful about something spiritual going on....that of course changes throughout the film as his own family start to become victims of supernatural forces beyond his control. Needless to say, the real Ralph Sarchie, based on the book, was not a skeptic ...

M When you want to make a horror film, you need to have within it a sense of not just suspense, but overall fright at the climax. Delivery: The Beast Within did not deliver. Why? Because it didn’t really give you an anchor to hold to with the film. The Exorcist had a point. The Omen had a point. Rosemary’s Baby had a point. The Amytiville Horror had a point. Paranormal Activity even has a point. With this film, what’s the point? I’m gonna go with a Spoiler Alert on this one so if you want to find out for yourself what this film is, I would stop reading now. Still here? Okay, good. Let’s get going. Hand held camera footage all the way, it begins with the production setup of a reality TV series tracing a loving couple’s journey of preparing for their new bundle of joy. Everything you know how a reality show is shown on TV, this gives you the same feel. I was impressed. I had yet to see a horror film take it from that angle so Kudos to that concept. But from there, things start...

Well....talk about Rosemary's Baby on Krack.... This movie is actually not rated, said to have already been released on May 30th, yet I can't find it anywhere. It's clear it's another one of those found footage films but with the twist that it's actually one of those reality shows...like those people that buy homes on TV that they can't afford....(oops sorry, my bad...) In any case apparently the unborn child here is either possesed by a demon or something or is the Antichrist Himself. In any case reviews have been decent on this film. It seems to be more independent due to it's non rating, so that alone says something about it. What do you think about the trailer? Is it promising? Does it suck? Comment below and share your thoughts on it. Once Vic and I watch it, we'll give you our honest thoughts on it....coffee and popcorn in hand.

Wisdom is needed here; one who understands can calculate the number of the Beast, for it is a number that stands for a person. His number is six hundred and sixty-six. -Book of Revelation, Chapter 13 verse 18. This is probably the most infamous quote from the Biblical New Testament. This is also one of the most famous quotes from the world of cinema. Throughout the years Hollywood has capitalized on the two thousand year old concept of what Christians worldwide call The Antichrist. Why? Because it’s fascinating, creepy, and makes for good horror film material. There have been various depictions of the Antichrist on film throughout the decades. The idea is usually that he is Satan’s son (though the New Testament never specifically refers to him as such…) and that he is born in the world to take over it and destroy the human race. There has been no series of films which has portrayed this in a more scary fashion than the Omen films. Beginning with The Omen in 1976 ...
